GI Joe, or Task Force to us Brits, was a highly successful brand of Hasbro toys action figures with all kinds of experts, armored combat high technology and advanced bases that fed many a child's playing time. At the height of his popularity at home in the 1980's, the mark of the Force Action created a cartoon, a comic and even an animated film before vanishing into the 1990 Marvel. It is now back on a scale truly global, resurrected in live action costume with an ensemble cast under the direction of The Mummy and Van Helsing director Stephen Sommers, and it hit the cinema screens next August.
Like the Transformers movie captured the imagination of adults who once played with the Hasbro toys that children while looks to lay the foundations for a new generation of fans to sell the goods, GI Joe, also produced by Hasbro, it could be struck as a similar cash which aims to launch a movie franchise, while lining the pockets of its executives.
