Visiting Brussels – Special Events to Look Out For During The Year
One of the best times to visit Brussels in September, when the number of tourists drops dramatically when compared to the summer months, but when the weather is still warm and pleasant.
However, if the special events interest then you may want to match your visit accordingly.
Summer Events
May the Brussels Jazz Convention is made to various destinations throughout the city. You can also catch the Queen Elizabeth Competition and the Kunsten Festival des Arts, which is a mixture of opera, theater and dance (in Flanders as in Wallonia). Sports enthusiasts may be interested in the Half Marathon in Brussels, where thousands of runners swarm through the streets of Brussels.
June entertains Brussels City Summer Festival in a variety of classical musicians gather to perform in some of the cities most extravagant locations. Another opportunity to take a music festival is presented in the last week of June when the Fete de la Musique is coming to town.
July offers a wide variety of events, starting with the opening of the Palais Royal, where the royal residence was opened to visitors for a couple of weeks. There is also an entertaining mix of musical cultural events, including they Midis Minimes Festival and Festival Coleur Café. Carnival lovers will want to check out Foire du Midi, which offers rides in amusement park type. The colorful Ommegang can be found in the Grand Place, where countless people assume the role of clowns, clowns, soldiers and others. December is characterized by Marche de Noel. At this fair you will find many stops Christmas holidays.
January and February are recognized by the Fete des Rois and Film Festival Brussels. Towards the end is the popular International Festival of Comic and Cartoon (you may remember the most famous Belgian comic strip hero – Tintin covered Snow and white dog that was to solve various mysteries).
March / April – The Ars Musica Festival is a celebration of contemporary music (march), while Serres Royales that is an elaborate flower show and attractive. You can also take in the International Fantastic Film Festival and Eurantica which is a large antiques fair (Usually toward the end of March).
April Sablon Baroque entertains the spring where is the music of the 17th century by some of the best young musicians the country. Keeping the melody, Festival of Flanders is an international music festival that specializes in classical music.
Brussels is a splendid city to some wonderful attractions and special events. Every time you decide to go, there will be something to see and do in the interest of sophisticated travelers.
