Transformers Revenge of the Fallen
When I was a child, I accompanied my grandfather to the video store, wearing one of my favorite Transformers with me. My grandfather would be more than an hour reading the back of each box, scanning the potential of artistic merit in which walked the aisles looking for high anything with a robot or a giant monster in it. Before I really knew how to appreciate the film, my nightly routine was to eat dinner and watching movies film after my grandfather.
This inevitably led me to become a film viewer, dressed with a big mouth, ranging from romantic comedies the cerebral thriller of conspiracy, including films from around the world, covering many languages. I have developed a highly technical and critical eye for the subtleties and nuances of the art form more than 15 years of watching movies.
Some of my favorites, are a sophisticated critical bunch: The Godfather The Shawshank Redemption, and Oldboy. And yet, after all the trash talking stacked atop each robot noisy frenzy Michael Bay, Transformers still consider: The Revenge of the Fallen and its predecessor a couple of the most fun and exciting at the entrances of science fiction from the matrix. Yes, you read right. This pure and hard, very hard to please film snob loves Revenge of the Fallen. It seems to me terribly strange that someone could not enjoy it that escapes me to no end. The type of people who can not have fun with movies like this seem to take themselves too seriously or know virtually nothing about the film. Member filmmakers, especially film legend Steven Spielberg, praise and admire talents Michael Bay. The film has grossed more than 800 million at the box office, sold two million Blu-ray and DVD release one days combined, and is loved by audiences around the world. What are the rest of us missing? It is an enigma.
Shia LaBeouf as Sam Witwicky again. After discovering a remnant of the AllSpark, Sam begins to see Cybertronian symbols remaining after transfers your information to him telepathically. The Decepticons must kidnap Sam and use information in the head to help the Divine The Fallen in the rediscovery of a secret weapon built in Earth Energon consume thousands of years ago by their ancestors Cybertronian. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
The history, if you have a finely tuned ear and the eye film, is not deeply philosophical, but an interesting adventure if not easily distracted by terrible comic relief and almost everything to explode. There are a lot of tradition Transformers lurking beneath the surface for anyone who wishes to learn.
Given a character Jetfire central, spewing his crazy days of age Unveils much more to the story than it seems. Sorry, I had to. But I think it's better I leave all this on his own discovery as it is part of the fun of multiple views. So far, I've gotten more of it every time and it's unfortunate that so many who have beaten or praised Revenge of the Fallen did not take into account everything that has to offer.
The two lovers and enemies of the film are blinded by images and crude humor. Yes, I said so. Personally, I'm not a fan of most of the humor in this post. Part of it is super fun, no doubt. But I do not I am a fan. People go to a folder of over the Twins or humping dogs ignore the imposing splendor abundant (and I'm not just talking about flashy special effects).
Both parties consider the killing and said aloud: "Awesome, I love explosions!" The other says: "That's nice and all, but not is more noisy and dumb. "The two who ignore the heart and truth in the center of both the Autobots and Decepticons design ', among other things. But I return to this point later.
Apparently, many critics over the Twins bench, calling out for being racist caricatures, which I think is one of the most absurd accusations deeply that I have heard against a film in years. Even in this movie anywhere near enough time to be worth an entire film of total awesomeness to ignore. In fact, looking back on Blu-ray could have sworn that I remembered them in the film longer. I know there was some dialogue changes in the domestic version, but it was his time to reduce screen? Owning now I find it even harder to understand why everyone hates them so much. They are not fun, sure. Racist? Seriously, have a hobby.
Apart of the crude humor, fine plot, and being "too high", do not hear any intelligent arguments. So what you're saying is that because find it fun, you missed 90% of the plot, and has ears like a woman 100 years old, is a bad movie? Do not get me wrong. I am not saying that The Revenge of the Fallen Schindler's List is a disguise, but it is undeniable complexity much more to it than one many critics like to admit.
There a myriad of other artistic elements that make a film what it is and many of them handle up to 11 in Revenge of the Fallen. One thing that is particularly clear is the love, dedication and talent at ILM mass. The amount of the characteristics that physically put the bots "is amazing. Along with an exceptional voice talent cast, the robots in Revenge of the Fallen rival anything yes, anything that can generate Pixar.
Bumblebee is still best accomplished by this output, showing truly worthy of an Oscar emotional mannerisms. Following his "vocal processors' destroyed in battle (Megatron is doing, if you read the comics) provides more weight to his serious nature in their attempt to express feelings through various movie sound bytes.
Wheelie, a tough-talk no walk-Decepticon mentions They must find the search engines. The mission of the applicants is to find the source of Energon here on earth and one of them knows the location of the Matrix of Leadership (Another piece to the plot).
Jetfire was later found, which was one of the applicants, which acts as a wealth of back-story. This geriatric robot just oozes character flaws peculiar to old age complained to his British accent. Parts of it did not completely transform more. Other parts of it fall. He is truly a wonder to behold. How can you lose the extraordinary talent behind characters like this? One of my favorite quotes of Jetfire: "My father was a wheel. The first round! Do you know what becomes? Nothing – and did so with honor! "So good!
Transformers losing the painfully mediocre Golden Compass Oscar for special effects is the most unacceptable misfire in the Academy Awards in recent times. The writers even do a very funny joke about that in the commentary. Come on now. How Golden Compass even nominated? I saw one the day it was released and was shocked by the terrible loss of credibility in the rubber of special effects. Now imagine my surprise when not only was nominated, but defeated the transformers.
If Francis Ford Coppola is a master character arcs, if Ridley Scott is a master of the epic, if the Wachowski brothers are masters of the metaphysical story, then Michael Bay is a master of action movie. Critics often attack ignores the bay to the story in favor of "splosions" marking action segment after segment action. That's like criticizing Jimi Hendrix slacking its rocket science. This film is not intended to be anything other than what it is and makes no apologies for it.
the Michael Bay eye for angles and lighting is second to none. In Revenge of the Fallen, recipients of the camera and slide to the rhythm of the blows as the elegant movements of a symphonic piece beautiful. How does a flash or wash the shade on a character used as a blow up grants that deal with death, is emblematic infectiously memorable shots and engineering to deliver an incredible feeling of heroism that only untouchable giant alien robots that emanate from this example excellent use scale. One Bay lighting to evoke the character is when Optimus Prime Galloway Director asks, "What if we're going and you're wrong?" First face does not change as she leans forward to say this. Although, when you lean back, passing through a shady area, highlighting the iridescence from his eyes, revealing – with only a change in lighting – the terrible power of the presence of the Autobot commander.
The rate of visual performance is impressive. In particular, the robot thin knife, Reed man, forms together in a brilliant one, as they infiltrate a military base to seize the AllSpark fragment. Combining sound music, lighting, and CG, the Bay run this and other special effects-driven scenes with clever musical ballet.
Now hardened critics around and hungry children Transformers fan can say whatever they want about Bay, but it is certainly the best at what he does. As sound designer, director independent film, and the composer, I can tell you that the orchestration of sound and visual Bay is the best I've seen or heard in Hollywood. Ever. Speaking sound design, I'm a big fan of the Bourne films, but better sound design of Transformers? The Academy is officially delusional.
The functions as solid as it should be in a film of this nature. No one does a bad job at all, to do the best you can while competing with giant robots. In Megan Fox, I see a very capable actress with a handful of very small bright spots, but she does what he has done. LaBeouf gets stronger every time I see it and probably has the best performance of the cast. Anyone who has seen Eagle Eye knows that this guy has an Oscar nod in her future. Sam's parents, John Agent Simmons Turturro, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson and all contribute to skill. Reference is a bit more unrealistic. The first film is that I love. This is not an exception. Any protected from the great Hans Zimmer (who lent his talent to a settlement or two) should be a talent to follow. Steve Jablonsky knows how to get your emotions along marked Shock of the segments. It is a very versatile composer and talent are perfectly integrated. Jablonsky Autobot theme is the work best hero I've heard since "Theme John Williams Superman. "The Transformers (2007) comment, I am pleased to hear of the Bay about the same. (FREE Download full movie)
What I really like is the participation of Linkin Park in the score. contemporary rock bands have no place in movies epic. They only serve to immediately date the material and weaken the atmosphere. As part of the soundtrack is fine. But when I hear the guitar radio friendly rock crane shots heroic mood is instantly and I got cheesed of the leak.
Bay on Transformers first effort (2007) and 2009's Revenge of the Fallen transport me to a place that would never be able to return to the opposite – a time when I had no problems or concerns except play with my toys in my backyard, making explosion sounds greedy lips. The film has flaws, some of them no doubt. It would be banal and ridiculous to make them shine above the enormous amount of talent that is proudly on display in production.
I could do without the Twins favor against to screen more for newcomers Arcee, Sideswipe, and shock. Originally, the writers of the Twins conceived as friendly attraction for children film. This idea, unfortunately, was massacred by the voice actors and the Bay went with him. Just as the love I have for Bay and his team, this was a mistake that always will taint the film. What if he just listened to the writers?
There are a couple minutes of the film could do without it and Michael Bay admits in the commentary that due to lack of time could not cut the film as much as he wanted. There are a few lines with an eye roll deliberate lack of subtlety that should have been left side. Sam's mom is quite excessive. There is a scene early on that is fun for children and says the Bay and certainly understand that, but personally I prefer this as a deleted scene, as it only serves to set the pace expected.
However, there is not hardly anything out there that takes me to a place of escapism pure Zen quite like this movie did and will do for me on countless occasions in the future. In one of the many special features on the disc, you'll see a large number of children waiting anxiously to meet Michael Bay and see the Bethlehem Steel set with the hope to see Optimus Prime, Bumblebee o. I really wonder how anyone can lose the point of films like this. Really, how in the world?
Presented in 2.39:1 1080p, Revenge of the Fallen are a pristine transfer, reference quality that clings to his jaw and throws it down for you. I've seen this on standard definition DVD recently and I did not realize how truly amazing Blu-ray is even comparing the two. How beautiful, the robots look on such a beautiful transfer is a true testament to ILM incredible level of talent. It a very fine test of the eye to see a difference between real cars and their robot counterparts.
In the scenes of the desert can bring all of the sediment pore in mud houses. You can count the threads of grain in the wooden planks. You can make each gear and the wire inside the smallest Insecticon. levels Black ink are. Colors are cordially saturated. The contrast is pure and strong. Film grain is healthy, but subtle. If you thought the original looked great in Blu, Revenge Memorial is visual perfection.
Audio
Violating the speakers with a DTS-HD MA 5.1 lossless soundtrack, logo Paramount only shows the impeccable sound design that are sure to give goose bumps from opening frame to the implementation of credit. Each channel is used liberally. Bass is warm and monstrous. laser flashes sear the room. The enigma metal bullets, as if shot holes in his home theater system. I'm going out on a limb and say this is the best sounding movie that could buy.
Special Features
This review is and the longest I've written. If I reviewed every special feature here individually, I will lose an audience faster than we already have. I've seen and experienced them all, and this Blu-ray offers some of the most informative and extensive supplementary material saturation you could ask for.
The Trasnformers (2007) Blu-ray offers a wealth of features, but I found some of them to be important or meet much of my curiosity. The comment was in response Michael Bay very little while stroking his ego for two hours. Revenge of the Fallen review begins with the Bay of talk about how much money the film made and I immediately said, "Here we go again!"
To my pleasant surprise, his ego-stroking ended there and there was a lot of details about circumspect about how difficult shots were taken from the camera or how you want certain scenes were longer. Even apologizes to fans for not so dramatic and a final battle which is expected due to lack of time.
Also at the same commentary track are writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman to offer all its original concepts and how they were altered and why: the relationship between Sam Autbots leaving home and having no one, and their ideas in front of Michael Bay, his intentions for the first tranche and its place in the sequel. This is one of the best commentary tracks I've heard.
In addition to the commentary, military involvement, sound design, actors, the job at ILM CG bright, the editing process, the line of toys, and the premiere in Tokyo everyone gets their own individually focused property with no standard definition to cheap cleaning fun. This is a very deep and vast effort that will make many rewatches me – and I usually do not rewatch features special. The only thing necessary for all Transformers fans in the land and wants are not included in this or in Transformers (2007) of the disc is a feature of focus only on the voice actors. absolute sadness consumes me. But, however this is not everything in the package.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is the wet dream of a Blu-ray collector and a dream come true for those who embrace his own son transformer looking out the next episode to take giant robot home with his grandfather. Michael Bay offers a bizarre film on an epic scale that, while excessive in its primary comic relief, transport us back to being small and full of wonder again. If you are looking for the next Empire Strikes Back, this is a completely different genre of film, to paraphrase Spielberg. This is for one thing and one thing only: an enormous amount of fun.
